Trying to make custom watercolor brushes.. Finally, I sorta did it.. Yeah~!
Now then~!! Trying out the new watercolor effect brush~!!



Tada~! Random digital painting.. Took about 5-6 hours.. I know this is not the best..I can't paint very well.. No references.. However I'm sure it's better than THIS PREVIOUS PIECE Click Here~! It's fun blending with different colors. This is the original color. Size: 2024 x 1518 px..



Yah... I still can't get use to soft colors shading .. so, change it with selective color option then blur it hehe..

Just a random image.. my OC character.. Actually, I'm messing around with the opacity and flow.. I wanted to try out watercolor effect painting something like that.. but I still fail..


A digital sketch.. Yup.. He is a fox. Not a cat.. meow.. Trying to sketch without guide line is strange..
1. I notice there are some mistakes so I erased some part and sketch again..
2. You can see I've made some changes..


Didn't bother to do lineart.. Trying to paint in low opacity and flow.. This is the original color..



After that, I start to go nuts again with the blending options using selective color option and color balance again.. plus, add in some textures too..


Try out changing the image with channel mixer.. I notice his left ear seems as if it's missing.. XD


Last and final.. It ended up like this.. I really love how it turns out. Even though his hair colors seem to blending in with the bg color..

New Junk..

Wow.. when is the last time I upload and drawings or sketches? Let me see.. Hmm.. 5/11/09 that's like 2 months ago.. XP Finally, I can post drawings.


Just finish my so call re-coloring piece in ps.. (wait so long haven't reboot.. don't care already.. I'll just install first.. later then reinstall after he reboots..)

The sketch was done around late June (bro fix the computer.. well, not exactly.. the computer still restart by itself or hang once awhile..)

Just done in late June.. Colored with OC.. I'm not very good with OC.. This is the best I can do..

Right: This is the recolored piece.. Sort add on coloring actually.. I'm more comfortable with ps.. hehehe.. I'm still not very satisfied with the simple background.. looks so simple..


and so.. SEE... I went crazy again with background and foreground.. From skintone, clothing to background.. Changing colors, hues and so on.. Adding layers and layers of textures.. (seems like I prefer heavy texture.. )

Lastly, what I'll always do: flatten all layers. Then duplicate new layer. Next, Gaussian Blur the image.. set to: softlight mode. Re-duplicate the second layer then change the Opacity to 30% (depends..) and set the layer to screen mode.. Voila~! It's done.. XD

It's already happened yesterday.. the New Post lookin so strange.. I don't know what is wrong with my post entries... Where is the edit mode, compose mode and the rest of the icons gone too?!!!

No matter how I click save or the post options links.. ALL NOT FUNCTIONING~!! I can't save or publish any post.. The status bar will show a Error on page.
Ehhh.. Just now still can publish and save leh... Why like this?? (very puzzled.) I've tried deleting cache and everything..

However, it's still no use..
Not sure if it's the IE problem.. Headache arh.. What to do?!!

Just opened my e-mail.. and I just saw an important notice from Yahoo Geocities.. GeoCities is closing!!! 怎么会这样啊！ They will be closing on October 26, 2009. Less than 3 months time..

What~!!! Noo~!!!

Meaning: My first time made crappy website (my playground) hosted at Geocities: A Simple Yume which has been around for 4 years will no longer appear or exist on web anymore~! All my efforts gone to waste.. Spent so many days/weeks/months just trying to make a simple website.. took me sometime trying to thinking of a crappy website name leh.. ToT I was attach it for so long.. Now no more... That was my first time ever to showing my drawings on the internet.. now will vanish forever~!! Pardon me for my swah-koo-ness. cough.. XP
It took me lots of courage to show my ugly drawings to the world..I've no confidence..


Now.. I have to find a new web hosting site to post my drawings online before October 26, 2009... Siao liao.. also must change all the links and some watermarkings..

A Simple Yume website will forever live in my heart/mind.. (Dumb thoughts..)

Shiawase da~!! Just simple minor things.. (though I find it rather silly blogging over simple thing..)

Yah.. I really love to eat egg omelets and scramble eggs.. Once in a blue moon, I’ll cook some and eat.. hehe..

Feels like cooking this simple food today.. But didn’t buy any milk.. What to do.. Heheheeh.. I sort of remember there is a tin of milk powder mum brought it not long ago.. (For me to drink only just in case when I get gastric attack.) Ask my mum to make a small cup of milk.. and start cooking away..

I wanted to cook scramble eggs but somehow last minute during cooking I fold the egg in half.. (Since mum wants the scramble eggs to be thick but at the same time soft.. ) Dang! it turns into egg omelets instead..
(Usually when we cook egg omelets, we’ll always cook until the skin turns golden brown instead... not pale yellow like scramble eggs color.. plus the ingredient like milk was not added to it.. )
Somehow, it taste delicious.. So I did another one for bro and lastly made one for myself..

Mostly, I prefer the egg omelet or rather scramble eggs looking thick outside but at the same time, inside still soft and a bit moisture. That always taste the best.. Indeed it does, I was making yummy noises throughout the whole meal! Bro thinks I’m nuts and exaggerating.. lol
But it truly tastes wonderful!!
Perhaps because of the milk powder..

I find it rather amusing.. Me going nuts over such simple stuff.. so stupid sia..
But I just can’t help it leh..


This is how I felt while I ate the egg omelet. Ummmmmm!!!! Yummy!! Shiawase Da~! 真的很幸福呀!

This actually happen this afternoon, we receive a call through handphone that is.. Well, mum asked me to answer it first and I did.. The moment I answer the call...

I heard a guy talking non stop.. Oh, by the way he seems very angry.. dunno why.


For the first few seconds I thought who is it and what language is it? Then I realize he is talking in Tamil.. (For few moments I was like huh?! What is he talking about?? Who is he?!)

Mum asked me who is it and so I let her listen to the hp her.. Seconds later, mum says: Hello, Hello.. Er.. Wrong Number arh.. (That person speak so fast and she don’t even have the chance to tell him he dial the wrong number..)

I was already laughing before mum hangs up the phone. (Honestly, I don't understand what is he talking about.. but it pretty hilarious and I can't help laughing.. ROLF... cough.. pardon me..)

She told me when that person heard what she was saying he was like totally kept quiet and stun.. lol

Not long ago, I was searching for some good mannequin online and I came across a very interesting program call: Daz Studio. Over at this website: Daz 3D.
I find it very interesting and what’s more… It’s FREE~!!! Hence, I downloaded it and try it out. I find it rather useful for me that is. Because sometimes there are certain angles, I want to try to draw but there are no references to it.. The only problem when using this program is.. You have to make the pose the way you like by yourself and it’s really time consuming.. But I don’t mind.. Once in awhile I can get very addict to it too.. XD



I really wanted to try and draw a foreshortening angle something like this and so I took sometime to make a pose and start playing around with the camera then screencapturing it..

Somehow, I fail.. I find that drawing angle like this is really difficult for me..

It's been awhile since I blog.. Major art block still hangs around me.. Yup.. I have not touch my pencil and paper for quite long.. ermmm... like 3-4 weeks I assume.. (-_-;) (Wow.. that's long..)

Our com has been pretty crazy and slow these days.. sigh..

When is the last time I logged into Gaiaonline.. hmmm... last year 2008.. in June... yup..

I didn't login in for 9 whole months!! Neglected gaiaonline for so long...
Well, just today, logging into my Gaiaonline account and I want to view my gallery..

I JUST found out all the drawings that I used to submit in the ART ARENA is gone!!! (all 21 entries are gone..) It's seems that Gaia have change everything.. There is a new Arena too.. I totally unfamiliar with it... I didn't even notice that...


I'm kinda confuse for now..
So, I went over to the 'Forum' and search for more information..
I found an article (posted on Aug 2008) saying that something about migrating all the old arena entries into the new system.. and we were ask not resubmit our old work, they say the old arenas will still exist, but for viewing only etc..

I don’t know what to do.. Does that mean: my entries still exist in gaiaonline?? (Then where is it? I can’t find it…)
So.. meaning: I have to wait until the Gaia Online stuffs finish moving all the entries in the old arena into the new arena? Only then I'm able to view my works? (but it's already 6 months then! I didn’t see my entries yet.. Haiz.. Must be patient..)


*Currently all the links that I've provide in my old website and my DeviantArt website linking to my gaia gallery is broken.. You will no longer be able to view all the drawings I posted there.. For Now that is..*

Mikado Dolls Doodle.

I still haven't get over with the tablet pen issue.. The pen can still be used.. but I just feel weird when using it.. The pen’s pressure is not stable.. I notice that, I have to press REAL hard so that the scatters can spread out but it doesn’t look good anymore... If this goes on the tablet is gone for good..


Oh well, enough of my meaningless complains..


I was surfing youtube today, on the front-page I saw an interesting video teaching us how to draw Mikado dolls.. (I think..)

After watching, I wanted to try out on digital program instead.

Well here’s the first try on OC.. Uncomfortable with the unstable pen pressure..


Pardon the ugliness of the image.. my drawing skill is not very good.. No matter how I look at this, it’s totally opposite from that video.. The image in the video looks way cuter~!


Second try on PS.. this time, I use path tool to create the line-art and colored it.. Looks more nicer.. except the female doll’s body is a little off.. Nevertheless, this looks much better that the previous piece.. XD

I'm really in a bad mood..

Yesterday.. I broke mum's washing machine while doing laundry.. it still can wash but can no longer dry clothes anymore.. Lucky mum is not angry.. and beside the washing machine is very old already.. XP

Today.. The com went crazy again.. Restart by itself 5-6 times.. and then....

Now...

I just realize…

My tablet pen is BROKEN!!! Nooooooo~!!!!!!!!! Well, not totally broken but the pen's pressure is not functioning properly.. Especially when it comes to scattering part.. No matter how I change the ps brush options.. it's still not working..

The black colored one was drawn with mouse.. now that's call scatter.. and look at the red colored one.. drawn with the pen.. Totally not working anymore..

心血来潮, 便随手拿起铅笔又开始乱涂鸦. 东加一点, 西加一点.. 虽然是只是重画但是应该比以前的好多吧.

The sketch.. I don't really remember what clothing they wear so I just add some other elements in it.


I don't bother to do line-art on this piece.. Sometimes my sketches looks better than line-art.. This piece was color digitally in ps. It’s much easier. At least, don’t need to worry about mistakes or choosing wrong colors. Hmmm... After eleven years later.. Not much improvement either leh...

fancy circles

I like the fancy circles in Fishbowl website.

I wanna have my own fancy circles custom brushes.. and I actually made some of it.. There I have it..
Currently, I've 70+ patterns.. I still wanna make some more~!!! ^-^ Although it's not as good as: Fishbowl ones.


These are just some of it.. (early stage patterns..) Yeah.. it's kinda ugly.. I didn't upload the other patterns.. (heheehe..) I want to keep those for other drawings.. XD

My Bunny..

Inspired by Casshern Sins anime. I don't remember which episode.. but I saw 2 cute girls playing by the beach/seaside.. They are so cute and adorable.. Hence, this image came into my mind.


Initially, I was just planning out color scheme on the sketch before I draw the line-art with OC.. I didn't expect this piece will turn out so nice. In the end, I gave up on doing the line-art..


I crop off all unnecessary areas.. (though original looks nice too.) I really love the colors..

I find the color too bright.. So, I desaturated her dress, bg and hair.. Much better.. (it a bit creepy though ..)

Totally forgotten not to LIFT HEAVY OBJECTS.. zzzzz pain.. drats.. (>o<) Oh well.. While cleaning and packing things I found 2 pouches one of them containing a walkman.. yup.. it a cassette walkman player. Wahhhh~! Still in good condition I assume.. (Used to belongs to my mum.. She gave me already.. 没有扔掉..不舍得扔掉啦.) The other pouch contains key-chain that has been kept aside like for decade lol. Out of curiosity, I took out and have a look.. then.. whoa.. I didn’t know bro use to have so many bomberman key-chains lol. I wonder where he got it from.. hmmm…

Yeah~! (it's been 2 months since he joins the army..) Another image of Eric Mun from Shinhwa~! This time, digital painting of course..

Found a nice image of Eric on the Internet.. Hand itching to draw something.. and so.. put the image into I-touch (references). Let's just say.. It’s just a random doodle I did.. a traditional piece.. and I was viewing iPod touch throughout this time.. SO CRAPPY DRAWING..

Few days later.. 2nd attempt.. Actually, I don't have intention to paint him.. I was randomly experimenting painting.. In the end.. He became my painting reference.. However, I did not to use the image in the beginning. I tried to rely on my memory instead.. Well.. This is the outcome.. (Never ever rely on my memory.. Total disaster.) Done in 2-3 hours..

3. TA~DA~! ＾ω＾


(好帅呀~! 只是自己觉得而已啦.) This time with reference~! Continue to repaint over the second image.. Adding in another 3-4 hours.. (Finish in 6-7 hours more or less.) Non traditional painting.. Done completely in ps. I'm sooo proud of this image that I've painted.. I never knew I can paint like this. o(^▽^)o Although, I find it hard to paint the 'netted clothes'.. Just go simple over it.. =3 The only disappointment for me is... it's done in 800 x 600 pixels..
｡･ﾟﾟ･(>д<;)･ﾟﾟ･｡ So small.. (No wonder I can paint so fast.. Sigh.. orz)
Dab on some paints and some random blending etc.. There you go.. A nice effect. (＾ω＾)
